Throughout my capstone project, i used creativity and communication alot. I had to use alot of communication to interact with the kids because my project was youth mentoring, so i had to talk alot with alot of kids. I had to use creativity in order to communicate with the kids. I did creative things like making up fun games so i can interact with kids and get to know them better. And when it became fun for the kids, it got easier for me to communicate with them.
My Capstone project allowed me to gain some experience working with the kids. It gave me some knowledge and experience for my future career which is youth mentoring. It was because of this project that i finally learned what i wanted to be my career which is youth mentoring. Intellectually, i learned how to interact with kids of a younger age. I learned that not all are going to be on the same level of maturity as i, so i had to start thinking like a middle school kid in order to talk to them.
I faced not that many challenges during my senior project. The biggest challenge i faced was actually breaking out of my shell and talking to the kids. This was hard for me cause i dont usually just start talking to people, especially ones younger than myself. I overcame this challenge by just getting the idea that they are kids and if i reach out, they wont reject me. I also overcame it by just talking, and putting my fears aside.

Today i did my last 5 hours for the senior project. It was fun and i had alot of fun. We started doing the usual hanging out. Then we went into an awesome worship and leasson. I started at 7:30 amd finished at 12:30. We started with just hanging out with the kids, then around 8:45 we went inside for worship and the kids we really active. After about 25 minutes of worship we went to the jr high room where i work with my mentor and he gave a preaching. It was really good lesson. Then we split up into groups and had talks with the kids on how they felt about the message and if it relates them in any way. After today i have completed 25 hours of volunteer work.

On this sunday, i shadowed my mentor as he preached and talked with the kids. We started at 7:30 and finished at 12:30. We started off by hanging out with the kids and talking with them, then we had praise and worship. Then we went in to preach the sermon, and after that we sat and talked with the kids about what they learnded. It was a little challenging because i had to try and connect with the kids and its hard because im much older and more mature. On this day i am up to 15 hours and have only 10 more hours of volunteer work.

He talked with the younger boys about life. It was a very productive day. It was my first official day of volunteer work and it was a little hard. The kids knew me as a friend, but now i was a jr leader and it was different. It was hard getting them to talk, but a few stepped out of their shells. I am at 5 hours and have 20 left to work.

On April 21 2013, i spent 5 hours with my mentor. I shadowed him and watched him tutor and mentor the youth groups. I started at 7:30 a.m and finished at 12:30 p.m. It was good day because i watched him talked with the small groups of middle school girls about their spiritual life and how god wants to help restore their them. The kids really listened and some took in what he said. And that was my day. I am currently at 20 hours of volunteer work and have only 5 hours left.

On this sunday, i served 5 hours again with my mentor. I started at 7:30 and finished at 12:30. We have two church services so i shadowed him mentoring two different groups of kids. In the second church service he let me mentor the kids myself and he just watched me. It was challenging at first to try and talk to the kids, but it got easier when i got comfortable with them. Fiscal Cliff Response
Democrats and Republicans have very different views when it comes to the fiscal cliff. Democrats support the repeal of bush tax cuts for the wealthy. The Republican party seem more extreme in its positions. Republicans also said that the economy has been damaged by the uncertainty caused by the deadlocked. Democratic sources say that obama is lowering revenue demand.
